Wooden Train Set (Solid Oak)

Description:

Hand crafted in solid oak, this four car wooden train set will provide years of entertainment for your child. Each train car consists of a base that is 9.5"L x 7.5"W and has four wooden wheels that are 2.5" in diameter and are 3/4" thick. The wheels are attached using a 3/16" dowel pin in these photos but will be attached in future trains with a 5/16" dowel to create a sturdier product. The wooden train set engine and caboose have a height of 8.5", the short rail car 4.75" and the tall rail car 6". The connector for the train cars is a rope with a cylindrical button that fits into a rounded hole. A latch is then turned over the rope to prevent the cars from becoming detached during play (see last three photos above). Connecting and disconnecting are easy to do and develops small motor muscles of young children. A secure connection eliminates the frustration of constantly having to reconnect the cars of the wooden train set. The engine has a connector on the front and can be connected in a position other than the first, or you can attach a rope for pulling behind a child.

Each car of the wooden train set is carefully constructed, hand rubbed and is free of splinters and sharp corners. Each piece is left in its natural state so that you or your child may paint it for added fun and individuality. Train cars can be cleaned using a mild household cleanser.
